Object or formA control variable is a factor that is held constant during an experiment. Control variables aren’t usually part of the experiment but are necessary to insure a valid experiment. An example is “How is a variable or variables controlled in psychological study of climate change beliefs?”

4. The effects of control variables must be evaluated to assure they are not affecting the study.
