Inquiry game name
AND/OR graphs

Object or form
A visual representation such as a graph or tree used in problem solving and goal achievement. The nodes of the graph represent states or goals and connected to subsequent states with AND or OR branches. The AND states are subgoals that must all be achieved to satisfy the parent goal, while OR branches indicate alternative subgoals, any one of which could satisfy the parent goal. A question might be, “What are the possible ways to reduce carbon emissions?”

Rules
1. The problem to be solved or goal to be achieved must be clearly defined.
2. The nodes must be clear, concise, and relevant.
3. The logic of connections between nodes must be valid.

Moves
1. Define or revise the problem.
2. List or revise nodes.
3. Make or revise connections.

Levels
1. Problem
2. Nodes
